The transportation of dangerous goods in NZ is governed by the Land Transport Rule: Dangerous Goods 2005 and Maritime Transport Act 1994. Everyone involved in the transportation of dangerous goods has a responsibility to follow these rules. The penalty for incorrect dangerous goods transport can be up to $500,000.These strict rules include:
